Socio-economic Impact of HIV on Households in Five Countries

Sanigest InternacionalSocio-economic Impact of HIV on Households in Five Countries

Project details

Sanigest researched the socio-economic impact of HIV at various levels, primarily at the household levels, since this was key priority for UNDP at the global and regional levels. In this context, the Regional HIV and Development Programme has supported household level socio-economic impact studies in China, Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam, which are presently in various stages of completion. UNDP India office and the country’s National AIDS Control Organization published a similar study in 2006. The Regional Programme has also undertaken a meta-analysis on the impact of HIV on food security at the household levels in Asia
